Choosing the right needle
A short thin needle is generally preferable to a long wide needle, as smaller needles minimise the risk of tissue and vein damage.
However, in some cases, a long and/or wide needle may be more suitable:
- If the product to be injected is very thick and/or viscous
- If the volume to be injected is high
- If the veins have hardened
- If the vein is deep
